In 2012, Pennsylvania had over 21,530 small and locally owned trucking companies served by a wide range of both large and small supporting businesses.
Over 88 percent of Pennsylvania communities move their goods using trucks. Trucks transported the state's 86 percent of total manufactured tonnage in 2010 or 1,150,214 tons per day.
